Honey Glazed Cooked Ham


This recipe applies to a ham that has already been boiled.
Remember, before cooking it, to soak it in cold water overnight; to remove excess salt.

This savoury and sweet ham is perfect for festive days and one of the easiest ways to feed a crowd.
Serve it with all the trimmings and perfect roasties.


  • Joint cooked ham - over 1 kg
  • 3 tbsp of honey + 3 tbsp of sugar
  • 1 tbsp of English mustard (or Dijon mustard)
  • 1 tsp of white pepper
  • Few whole cloves to cover the ham


Step 1

Remove the skin from the cooked ham. With a sharp knife, make diagonal cuts across all the fat without cutting into the lean meat.

Step 2

Mix the honey, sugar, white pepper and mustard then spread the mixture thoroughly all over the ham. Now put a whole clove into each intersection. Bake at 200 C for more or less 30 minutes, basting frequently.
