Chips or Crisps from Pita or Lebanese Breads

2021-05-15

These chips are so easy to do and so moreish. Once you start eating them you can’t stop! I do them with mainly leftover and old Lebanese bread. They are as nice if done with pita bread.

Serve them as a snack or appetiser. They are also perfect to accompany drinks. And last but not least, they are healthier than other chips or crisps as they are are grilled, not fried!

PS: instead of seasoning with salt and pepper, you can add other spices such as Chilli powder, paprika, onion powder, garlic powder….

Ingredients

  • Lebanese or pita breads, cut into small squares
  • A drizzle of olive oil
  • Sea Salt & freshly grounded black pepper

Method

Step 1

Drizzle enough olive oil to coat all the bread pieces then sprinkle sea salt and black pepper (to taste). Mix then place on a large baking platter covered with baking paper. Spread them, don’t overlap. grill them in a preheated oven (180C) until they are crispy and golden (10 or 15 minutes). They grill very quickly so be careful not to burn them.
